When the student is ready,
the teacher appears.
He may be across an ocean,
he may already be in the house.
Rogue Muqaddam
We find your muqaddam to be weak in the faith. Both in Islam in general, and Sufism in particular. His actions speak to bad moral character.
Said the muqaddam to his friends, when the brothers attempt to make mudhaakara, yell and scream and generally make asses of yourselves. This they did and the muqaddam then played stupid with us and pretended that he was trying to keep the peace, when in fact it was he that was sowing discord among the brothers.
That was his first lie.
When hadhrat sidna called him and asked him about the situation of the brothers, he said everything was alright (ostensibly so as not to trouble our sheikh).
That was his second lie.
A group of us decided to start meeting on Fridays in order to have dhikr at our meetings. The muqaddam then phoned sidi Ali and informed him that we were meeting on Fridays but rarely on Saturdays and Sundays. He told the what, but not the why. He told a truth and hid a truth.
This business of telling a truth and hiding a truth is termed 'lying by omission'.
That was his third lie.
Thus we deem your muqaddam to be a liar. And we question the love he claims to have for bait sidna when he finds it so easy to lie to them.
And what can one say of one who disrupts dhikr Allah. And what have they now replaced dhikr Allah with but idle chitchat.
If pressed as to explaining the actions of the muqaddam, we would offer the following explanation.
The muqaddam came to the realization that neither he nor his children would ever understand the tariqa. So he decided that since he couldn't lift himself up, he would pull everyone down to his level. And the level of his children. What he did not understand is that ignorance leads to kufr. And so he, like others, runs to protect his children.
This is The Law Of Unintended Consequences.

Lying by omission: Also known as a continuing misrepresentation, a lie by omission occurs when an important fact is left out in order to foster a misconception. Arabic: الكذب عن طريق السهو
